Default Croda Oil - What is it

I've got a Jensen Jarrah outside table, which for years I kept looking great with Jensen Jarrah Croda Oil.

The company went bust, and I can't get the oil now.

It would be great if someone had the recipe for it. I smelt like it had linseed in it, but there were obviously other ingredients.

    I would appreciate your help.

    Thanks

I have some Croda Oil. We bought a Jensen Jarrah outdoor furniture set about 25 years ago, it came with a complimentary 250ml tin of Croda oil.

Realising that this wasn't going to last forever, I did some searching. It was being manufactured in South Australia, then shipped to Western Australia in 200 litre drums, where it was decanted by Jensen Jarrah to smaller 250/500/1000 ml cans.

I managed to get the South Australian company to send me directly a 4 litre drum, after paying Jensen Jarrah in Western Australia first.

This was all pre www days.

The last time I purchased 2 x 4 litre drums, I am now down to ½ a drum.

The last purchase was done about 6 years ago.

any idea who the South Australian company is, or how to contact them?

I went into the shed and the can has this on the label

    Croda Paints / DG 3 PAINTS UN1263 P/G II

    HAZCHEM 3YE

Manufactured by Croda Coatings Pty Ltd
    183 Prospect H'way Seven Hills NSW 2147

    BRISBANE / NEWCASTLE / SYDNEY / WOLLONGONG / ALBURY / MELBOURNE / ADELAIDE / PERTH.

So somehow I get the idea that they are a largish concern, or at least were.

Thanks again for your effort Mick. It is much appreciated.

Going on from what you just gave me I have checked phone books, google and google street view (the property was for lease!).

I am still no closer to getting some oil.

Does anyone have any other suggestions on
    -where to buy some
    - how to make some
    - a suitable substitute

A real advantage of Croda oil was that it brought out the natural colour of the Jarrah without adding its own colour from a pigment.

    Again, Thanks to Mick

    Hi JMK89

    Thanks for the suggestions

Have emailed the big multinational's Singapore Office to ask some questions, and will ring the Albury people, probably tomorrow.

I shall let you all know If I have success - it is a great product.

    Further suggestions welcome.

    Greg,

You could also try PPG Australia (PPG Australia). Croda Paints were taken over by Ameron a while back and Ameron was then taken over by PPG.
