    Default EEE Application

    Hi All,

It has been a while, but I am onto the final stages of my table "restoration". I have applied 4 coats (at this stage) of hard shellac. I was advised in a previous forum some months ago to apply a final finish of EEE to the top.

Could someone please advise the best method of application for this product? I do not have any swansdown mops, but would a lambswool cover on a random orbital sander be okay.

Any other tips would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards

    Marls
p.s. how do you attach photo's like I have seen in the photo gallery? Would like to show those who could be interested the final product.

    Thanks again.

G'day Marls - Swans down mop or rub it by hand with a soft clean cloth. In theory a buff on ROS doesn't have enough positive fource for polishing and will most likely give you a swirl pattern on the surface of the work, however I haven't tried it so am not really sure of the consequences.

You can always give it a try on a test piece to see the effect. I have found in the past that lambswool pads often leave bits of flyff on the surface and can sometimes create too much heat which may damage the finish being buffed. But like I said above I haven't yet tried it with a ROS so who knows.

As for adding a picture this might help http://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com...ead.php?t=3945

    Cheers - Neil

Neil. Would you use EEE as a final finish, as it is reccomended that Shellawax (liquid or cream) is appied as the final finish on turnings, as EEE dulls over time, which I learnt from experience some time ago.
