    Sorry Neil, I goofed You did NOT recommend flannelette sheeting as a shellac applicator.
    One other goof according to LOML was that linen tea towels if bought new should no be used until they have been boiled.

    G'Day Jerry,

    When I first started out French polishing many moons ago, I used to fill the pad with cotton batting as I was taught. I stopped doing that many years ago, because I coluld fold the cloth into a ball, and instead of having the batton inside I had just the one oiece of cloth, and now my pads are all in one piece and no the two.

    This has worked fine for me for 50 years, so, I will stick with it for now.

    Jerry, I found out a long time ago, what works for me, is best for me.

    No argument with such a theory. It's the way I go too. If everyone did the same thing where would this forum be? Ain't no fun in being uniform in approach
