Default Finish for internals of chest of drawers?

I have just finished a chest of drawers for the BBQ area which is under cover. It is finished in pine and ply and will be finished externally with decking oil to match the garden furniture. Contents will be food utensils and the drawers are finished in melamine with pine fronts. It is constructed to be pretty well dust and bug resistant (I hope).

My question after my ramblings, is there any need to seal the internals of the carcase and if so what recommendations.

Being outside it would pay to coat it.

Id recommend at least sanding sealer inside as untreated it could be affected by temp changes especially if one side only is coated. Also, your bound to get stains and spills which are easier to clean if the wood is sealed.

yes, what ever you do to the outside of the carcuss, do to the inside. obviously you don't have to be padantic about sanding etc, but if you put ten coats of oil on the outside you should equal this on the inside. That way the rate of movement is equalised somewhat. Its not really going to take you any longer to do this.

Thanks for the replies. I ended up coating the internals as suggested with the decking oil and with the internals of the drawer fronts, where the plates etc will be, with organoil.
