Default Finish for a jarrah coffee table

Help ! - is there any more natural finish rather than using polyurethane that could stand up to hot coffee cups - I would love to wax and polish but suspect I will end up with cup rings.

    Hi Petere,

    Welcome to the Forums!

Try this method (it's after the first few posts). Strong, durable and excellent grain differentiation. Any questions give me a call or PM/email me.

    Regards,

    Rob

Or you could go for one of the floor type lacquers.

    Google "OSMO"

Brilliant finish, German made, food safe, very durable, high solids, easy to apply. My finish of choice now. You will not get ring stains on this finish. I have tried with just about every thing known to man. Including Pouring boiling water into a tin cup and leaving it right where it is till coolish.

    Default table finish

    Hi Petere
If you have not decided on finish, have a look at this http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=w8WKFC6X3B0

You can then see the type of finish a natural certified food safe product looks like and the Kunos countertop oil is also heat resistant to 50 degrees.
