Default Finish raw NGR kitchen cabinet doors

Hi -- I'm planning to finish some solid timber kitchen cabinet doors (NG Rosewood) that I've ordered from a cabinetmaker. I've done a bit of reading in this forum, and I just thought I'd ask to see if I'm the right track...

For a sanding sealer, I was thinking of using a thin shellac sealer.

For the finish, I was thinking of using a satin oil-based single pack polyurethane, such as Cabots CFP (actually a floor poly, but at least one forum member likes it for furniture as well).

I don't have spray equipment, so I was planning to use a brush. The self-leveling properties of a floor poly would seem to make this a reasonable way to go.

I was thinking two coats of poly on top of the sanding sealer should about do it (sanding between coats).

Any comments or suggestions on this plan?

    Thanks for your advice.

Sounds like a plan. I have used the same thing on on kitchen cupboards and a kitchen table.Lasted the distance with the usual abuse from a growing family. At the time I was after something to take the hard knocks and be ok to wipe down. I used a brush also. I would it on a day with good natural daylight to avoid those brush marks you only see after the job is done.
    Regards
    John
