Finish For Tas Oak & Myrtle.
Hey Guys,
I'm currently 70% of the way through a hall table project based on a shaker style design (tapered legs, two drawers etc) anyway, I am making the legs, aprons draws etc out of Tasmanian oak and the actual top out of myrtle. Anyway, I really want to do a good job of the finish to compliment it, idealy I would like to bring out the colour of the myrtle and not brown it, and would like it to be relitivly hard glossy finish. For the tas oak I would like to have a glossy yellowy colour. However I realise without a compressor, spraying room and gun this could be difficult, but I would like somthing similar to a sprayed 2pac poly finish.
Any help realy apreciated such as what brands, stains, varnishes, oils, shelacs or whatever I need to buy.
Cheers Alex.
