    Default A different finish for ya!

    The finish I am about to describe for you was one that my old teacher tought me. I mainly used it on the completed piece of work on the lathe as it was a breeze to apply.

    Its simple, beeswax sealer, once this is applied the tip some Brasso on your hand and apply then your done. Yes I said Brasso,the brass polish. Great stuff on pine and similar timbers. Gives a light sheen and a beautiful golden yellow tone. Im not smoking anything, trust me, give it a try! Let me know what you think. I call it The Jard's Polish. (Named after Mr Jardine, my former wood/metal work teacher.)

    No worries about Brasso,

    in the old days we had to restore telephones with this product, pretty much a fine grit with emulsifier me thinks, high evaporation rate especially with heat, buffs to a high shine, must be magic

    It's been a while since I was in the Army and had to polish any uniform buttons and smelt it - but isn't this stuff Amonia based.

    Sounds okay on soft wood but knowing what Amonia does to some timbers I'd be careful around Tanic Woods like Oak & Ash.

    As always, try it on a piece of scrap first.

    Ah yes! But we all use the canuba wax based finished that Ubeaut sells. Its a harder wax that stands up to more abuse than beeswax!

    I agree, testing it in scrap is always a wise move! Tealady I might have to try some of that polsih.
