Default Help with Jarrah Burl Table

    Hi peoples
I am new hear and was looking for some advice,

I recently purchased a jarrah and mallee root burl table of a friend because I couldn't bear to see something he has ad in his family for 25 years that I know of go to someone he doesn't know.

anyway a per pictures attached it needs some TLC

it has dried out considerably over the years and i'm not sure what to do,
do i oil or varnish. if oil water based etc.

the edges (rough area) it has lost a lot of its colour and looks very faded.

the mallee root is very dry and looks the same but is getting hair line cracks in it

could someone please point me in the right direction

    cheers

    tony

A good wire or stiff nylon brush to the sides/legs, followed by something like Organoil or Danish oil, and a sand back to smooth bare timber on the top, followed by a tabletop finish epoxy such as https://boatcraft.com.au/information...structions.htm for the top and filling any cracks.
