Default How did they do this?

    Hi all,
I have the task of making an honour board to match an existing item as per photos.
The existing item is made from 18mm MDF/Jarrah veneer, and I can make and route a panel to match without issue, except for the edge.
Does anyone have any clues as to how this edge finish was produced? In the past I have sprayed a jarrah stain onto MDF edges , sanded and recoated and this has produced a good finish, but the whole board has a darker edge. It appears that this particular item has had some type of stain brushed (?) onto the routed edge and then coated. I am at a bit of a loss on how to replicate it.
    Any ideas?

Looks like solid timber edge to me. What's it look like on the back?

    Hey Allsport,

Like Barraboy said, I would be gluing on a solid edge strip, and then doing the router job.

Definitely an edge strip and you can probably buy it in the length pre moulded from any decent timber shop maybe even Bunnies.
