Default Re: Jewelry Armoire Finish Help

Now im wondering how well a thin veneer will stand up too that process.

The sample pieces i have are 1mm. I would have to be pretty careful during dry sanding wouldnt I?

Do a 240 and a 400 dry and see how that goes. Let the sander do the work. For the wet sand, you can cut out the 800 and just do the 400,1200,1500 and 2 and 4000g. You will still get a very good result. At the end of the process, wipe down the work piece with a clean cotton rag. Give it another wipe down about an hour later. The 2 and 4k won't really take much away at all. And the 1200 and1500 should be safe as well. If you are at all concerned, cut down the number of sanding reps to 5 back and forth.

    Good Luck

    Rob
