Default Interesting use of a lighter.

This guy uses one to decorate the ceiling. Maybe it will spark other ideas.

Default Boyd exhibition at S H Ervin gallery

There is a wonderful exhibition on at the S.H.Ervin gallery by David Boyd who was the Australian artist who first started using "Sfumato" to create artworks. He used candles as the heat/soot source but have a look here for an insight about the exhibition which features a haunting portrait using this technique. Portia Geach Memorial Prize 2012.

Bu88er, I remember (when I was much (much) younger) getting a swipe for using candle soot to make marks on walls - I was inspired by Cave Art.

Now it's an art-form in itself.

Ah well, missed my chance there didn't I!

I try and do new things twice.. the first time to see if I can do it.. the second time to see if I like it
