Default Water based polyurethane over epoxy resin?

    Hi all,
I'm using some reclaimed/re-milled messmate that has some "feature" gum lines and nail holes.
I want to fill the holes and lines with an ultra-clear epoxy and was then planning on finishing with a water based polyurethane.
Will the polyurethane dry and adhere over the small/thin epoxy sections?
Otherwise, what would be another finishing suggestion - looking for a satin finish for the front panel of future kitchen drawers.
    Cheers,
    Joe.

Works perfectly fine. I did the exact same on a small coffee table except the epoxy was stained
