    Hi Stephen,

Great story, and thanks for sharing it with us. Yes, there are some very generous people about, many are members here and others we don't get to hear about. So well done with the finishing and all the best in the exhibition.

I think it is worthwhile to mention Ben's name and the name of his business, not by way of advertising but just to let others know who this helpful chap is.

    Cheers
    Pops

Yes! you are right. The man with a heart of gold, and years of experience is: Benny Loc of: E & D Furniture Polishers in Williton WA. I am humbled by his generosity and spirit.

    Well I saw this piece

in the flesh today and had a chat to Stephen
the construction makes clever use of the sheet material and Stephen's joinery is first class
IMO this was one of the best looking pieces in the competition, shame it didn't arrive from WA till after the judging

two other makers, graduates of the Sturt School at Mittagong, had interesting chairs
most of the rest was too "arty" for my taste and the "trade" fair was mostly cheap or high margin chinese imports

    Alex S
    did you get there?
    what were your thoughts
    regards from Alberta, Canada
