Pine desk top coat/oil
Well I built a super cheap desk from a pine 2400x600 timber top from Bunnings. Cheap effective but I'm looking for a simple to apply coating just to help protect it from dirty fingerprints and cold can stains.
I'm not keen on varnish or anything to glossy. Hence I'm leading towards a oil. If it darkens it so be it.
It's not a beauty queen by any means but $85 top with $90 legs she's damm effective and solid.

I used 2 coats of wipe on poly (mainly cos I already had some) on my grandson's (he's 6) craft desk.
Its going to get drawn and scratched so i didn't see the point in getting too fancy.

If I went that track with a dining table could I stain it darker before?
How hard wearing would the wipe on poly be on a dining table.I would love to grow my own food, but I can not find bacon seeds
