Finish for dining room table.
I am current making a dining room table out of Rosewood. Just after any ideas and experience people have had with finishing tables and what type of products they have used.

Minwax Wipe on Poly seems to be popular for dining tables. Handles heat and moisture better than shellac but gives a nice, rich finish.
Or you could mix (or buy) the Maloof mix of 1/3 tung oil, 1/3 boiled linseed oil, 1/3 polyurethane varnish, which will give similar results. If it gets dinged or damaged, wipe on a couple more coats.
