    Default Over-sanding jarrah

Hi all (my first post here)

Ive been asked to build a side table out of jarrah - its my first paid job which is great.

I think I've over sanded with 240 grit. I asked my client if she prefers the oiled/aged look or a satin/sharp look. I of course should have asked earlier but she is after a sharp satin finish.

Just looking for advice on how to restore the hard and sharp jarrah look.

Lots of lessons learnt so far but any advice on finish is appreciated.

I assume that the edges have been rounded by the sanding? If so, I would probably scrape or hand plane the surfaces, but it would be prudent to first look at the piece. Can you post a photo or two?

    Regards from Perth

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your first paid job. Can you please elaborate on what you mean by a "sharp" look?

Go over it again with 120 grit, this will make the pores more open and give the finish something to key to.
