Default Good Sealers for Hardwood Table tops like Marri to preserve natural look

Acrylic 2 Pac 0% gloss Marri Natural Finish.jpgPolyurethane 2 Pac 5% gloss Marri Natural Finish.jpgThe one on the left, Acrylic preserves the natural look of the timber whilst the marri on the right has been yellowed. I prefer the natural look personally.

Apparently they achieve this using the below products (either one) Ilva or Beckers

    Acrylic coatings - Ilva

    or

    Polyurethane Paints & Clears

The acrylics are apparently very watery and much harder to apply thereby requiring more skilled applicators.

What about this product http://www.feastwatson.com.au/consum...t-details/1524 which Iam not sure is 2pac. Any opinions on my assumptions, the brand names etc is appreciated. Thanks

I had one response from the Cabots Contact Us line
For you to retain the natural look a water based clear finish would be best. We do have a good commercial water based clear called Envirpro Endure 1 pack. This is a good durable coating and will heighlight the natural look of the timber. You will need to s eal the timber first with Envripro Timberseal followed by three coats of the Endure 1 pack. These products are only available through commercial woodcare distributors

Great tips. I also like natural looking wooden furniture. I notice that over the years, they maintain their looks better as compared to wooden furniture that have been colour stained.
