Hi,
I have a slab of Raintree about 3m long and 1.5m wide at one end and 1m at the other, and 90mm thick. It is pretty close to quarter sawn, still got the bark on both edges. It was taken from about 1m above ground level It has a split in one corner of the wider end extending about 400mm along and in towards the centre. I am thinking of rounding that corner off to remove the split. It is 4 years since it was slabbed and has been drying in a shed off the ground with weights to keep it from warping
I am planning on using it for an outdoor table, undercover, keeping pretty much its natural shape. I will be making a steel frame and legs and screwing it from underneath.
Looking for suggestions on finishes. I have never used an epoxy finish before but I was leaning that way...........Is that a bad idea for something this big? Are the epoxy finishes suited to something that may change dimensionly with the seasons. I live in Ingham Qld, so humidity and heat vary considerably.

Cheers Phil
