Stearate in coatings - why can it sometimes interfere with finishes?
I've read often enough that zinc stearate is used as an anti-clog in some abrasives coatings, and that it can interfere with finishes.
However, I've not be able to turn up with any explanation of why.
Does anyone have any further info please? Does it or can it affect all finishes or just some? The best I can find is that it might be responsible for cloudiness in the finish. Is that the only effect it can have?
Cheers
