So, Peter; to get back onto topic, how are you going to polish him off?

    Bob,

To keep it on topic of polishing it depends on the circumstance.

Would a wash down with lindseed oil/turps mixture be sufficient in this case or is a total stripping required. Or maybe only Ubeaut's Polish reviver willl do. May be others can judge for me.

After that we mix up a batch polish - to keep in line with Timbecons recommendation we will use Ubeaut's famous Shellac flakes - See still on topic - and keep rubbing it in untill the dull and faded look becomes bright and shiny.

Peter, are you rubbing it in to Mr. R McCarthy, or to the rest of us for letting you come back from Lurker status. Imagine you giving someone a nasty blue square. It just doesn't fit with the Peter I think I know from these boards.
Oh, by the way the cheque that you put in the mail came through, thank you very much.
It was very helpful and I'll post some pictures when I put it into practice.

Who is this Neil everyone keeps paying out on, not the illustrious man in Black I met at the Sydney show, surely?
    Cheers

Jim, I am an Aussie and, unlike the native ones, I have a certificate to prove it.

That's for me to know and you to guess.

Jim, I don't believe in giving out nasty blue squares I only give lovely emeralds ( green ones). If I feel that somebody deserved a raspberry I would post it for all to see.

    Peter.

BTW Pleased to see you got my cheque.

    Ofcourse it counts for something.

But mine is on parchment type paper, complete with photo ID, signed by Lizzie Windsor in her capacity of Queen and countersigned by the then Minister for Immigration, was hand delivered by our local worship the mayor of our city, and came with a native tree.

Does yours ? and if it does has it your baby photo  as ID?

Our kids have certificates like that. Not signed by the Queen or by the Minister for Immigration, but by the Registrar of Births, Deaths, and Marriages. We're not really monarchists, so we can do without the Queen's scribble on it. We must've missed out on the tree. They did give us a couple of nappies when we left the hospital.

Mine is a shabby old piece of blue paper folded up to the size of a credit card and frayed around the edges.

No photos on any of them, but a baby photo wouldn't be much use in identifying us now anyway
