Veneer oil finish
I am in the process of making a box lid. I have mitred a frame and rebated a veneered 3mil mdf centre piece using .6 mil veneer. I like oil finish on my boxes but am a little cocerned about the effect of oil on the veneer glue ( I have used syntex AV140 pva). Can anyone advise me whether this is a problem please
Thanks
Alf

I must say i think you will have a prob but in saying that i guess a lot of oils were used on veneers in the early days .
maybe the animal glues didnt react the same as the chemical glues of today ...
try a sample and see what happens
