    Default Is Water Based Polyurethane water proof when dry?

    I just completed a fish tank cabinet and finished it in WBPU/stain, but now I m having second thoughts and wonder if it was a silly thing to do!

    I hope one of you with experience in this area will post.

    I only have internet access for the next 6 hrs, then I am in in black out conditions till next Friday. I will respond to post at that time.

    Yes. WBPU is waterproof/ not water soluble when cured.

    Depends what you mean waterproof, PU will still let water vapour through (you need an epoxy vapour barrier to stop this), also ensure the PU you are using has met the potable water standard, otherwise you could be ending up with a heap of dead fish. Some products have biocides in the prevent mould growth (either in the can or when applied) and these can leach into the waterover time
