Default Wooden benches and sink - help!

    Hi,
I dont know if I could even be called a newbie. . .but I am willing to give it a shot!
I have wooden benches in the kitchen that are apparently old floor boards. I need to sand them back and either seal or finish them somehow. If anyone could give me advice on how best to seal and also if there is a product to fill the gaps between the boards with I would be grateful.
Also I have a wooden kitchen sink which has a spot in the middle that has become soft and water logged. Any advice on that would be great too.
    Thanks, Trish

fill the gaps with a wood filler of some type my preference would be cabots, then sand and coat in Rustins Plastic Coating, I'm sure there will be other suggestions forthcomming.

A quick Google search turned this up. I have never used it but it looks like it could be what you are after re the wet spongy spot and reapiring it. Senseal wood rot repair and prevention with epoxy resin, epxoy primer, epoxy filler, and epoxy adhesives They have a Contact Us page so go ahead and give them a bell and ask if it is suitable for what you want.
    Hope that helps you out.
