    Post Workbench Finish

I would like to finish a new workbench(1800C design) with an oil based finish. I have considered Organoil, but I am not sure if the finish would look okay on Jarrah.

    your comments are appreciated

    regards

    Tony

    Tony,

I figure an oil finish is the best for a work bench, it's easy to repair, helps stop glue and other finishes sticking, and looks good.
I've not had much luck with Organoil, but that might just be me (apparently you have to follow the instructions to the dot).
So I'd recomend Rustins Danish Oil (cause it works for me every time).

Mine is finished with spilled glue, paint, thinners and oil. Works for me.

I ve been using a heavy coat of wax which has been run overwith a heat gun till it melts & soaks in .

not too much work & glue & stuff comes of reasonably easy.

    its only a work bench

Tony, RobertWA and Soundman have the right idea, it's a workbench not a showbench.
    Cheers
