FWIW, no it isn't funny. Who said anything about the thread being closed? I didn't and it sure doesn't mean you should be a rude prick about it, or maybe that's how you are huh. Disappointing really.

I fully and wholeheartedly agree it wasn't funny instead it was hilarious. I'm still on the floor laughing about it.

But Neil for clarity can you confirm that the phrase I am in is also acceptable.

Neil, as one of those who has had no trouble following your very simple rule, I'm disappointed at all those examples that you say you don't care about. My chances of winning would obviously be greater if you applied the rule you have always had, and deleted all those who deliberately flout it.

NO! That's too much like proper speak and requires 7 keystrokes instead of 6 (punctuation not counted)

That's true a and I apologise for incorrectly quoting you. I should have said
competition was closed No matter what the wording was it would still have had the same end result as saying thread was closed. The use of prefixes DRAWN and CLAIMED should, for most, have been sufficient. No reason to say CLOSED. In your words again... "Even the dumbest around here could understand that hey."

To use your words once more... "it sure doesn't mean you should be a rude prick about it, or maybe that's how you are huh."

You stay safe, keep well and have yourself a lovely day, eh!

There's a simple solution for anyone who doesn't want to see the belated posts announcing that "I'M in" or however you wish to post it, or even if you have had enough of the the slippery slope down which this thread is descending at a rapid rate (which is amazing when you think that the thread only exists due to the generosity of the prize donor and the forum owner).

Scroll to the top of the page. In the bottom on the right hand side click the button called "thread tools". A drop down box will reveal some choices. If you click "unsubscribe" you will stop receiving email notifications of the new posts and you might not be tempted to reply to them. This might be a good idea if we wish to enjoy the generosity of those who make the give-aways possible in the future.

There is another simple answer. If you don't like the rules, don't enter and don't read the thread at all.

I can't decide whether to "thank for" or "like" this post, but this bit made me smile
