im about to start a 7 string build
350 is a good price! probably go to around 400 including shipping (depending who you go by..)
thats a good deal....
iv looked in sydney and only seen one 7 string.... in one shop....
in parramatta
over a grand and well... looks like crap haha....
actually i saw one in cash converters that went for 700....
you will not find an 8 string second hand...
7's 8's baritone's extended range instruments..... they arent big in aus....
you pay through your ass to get them....
you can repaint it....
not really that hard.....
or just sand the paint off and wipe on some tung oil or something....
i would snatch it up for 400....

Im with Andy! Heaps hard to buy over here. Im half way through building one coz they cost too much. Just ask for lots of pics of it. Especially the neck so ya can check out the frets and make sure there are no cracks. $350 for a jackson 7 is definately a good buy! Paiting is no problem! A bad paint job just adds character!

I have a story about the "other place". I have a woodtone accoustic guitar (hand made) and wanted a pickup put in. I took it to the "other place" to get a fishman put in, however I specifically requested an EXTERNAL preamp and only a plug hole drilled for a 1/4 inch plug, as I didn't want the tech to cut a gapping big hole in the side. Plus it was a 000 shape and the side mounted preamp is shaped for a dreadie, so it wouldn't fit propertly. I arrived a few weeks later to pick it up, and when I pulled the guitar out, I noticed a preamp cut into the side, and the preamp DOESN'T fit the curves of the guitar. Needless to say all hell broke loose that morning! That is one place I would not recommend tech work
Cheers,
Peter

WOW,,,,, i mean WOW !!! How the hell does anyone make such a huge cockup and just ignore what the owner speciffically asked for?
What did the original guitar cost you Peter?
Id have threatened legal action for at least that much.
What a bunch of tools,,, very blunt ones!
