Thread: My First Amp Build
-
2nd October 2009, 01:33 AM #16
No kit, its scratch built
I did it all myself
An amp builder (Andrew Neale) from the AGGH forum mentored me through the build and checked it over when it was done
The amp came about as I mentioned to Andrew that I wanted an amp could give me a reasonable clean sound as well as having a nice amount of gain
He suggested I join part of a Fender based schematic with part of a Marshall one
We had a lot of emails until I got it right, then I built it
It was a massive learning curve, and I got to admit I still have heaps more to learn
By the end of the year I'm hoping to start an 18 watter

Thats nuts man, Nice work on doing it all yourself!
I'd love to be able to build one but the electrics like that make my head squeeze my brain real tight! haha
good work though, hope you can get some sound clips up soon

Yeah they look intimidating but when you sit down and read it over a few times they aren't tooooo bad. I think I've been inspired for my next project
Also if you have a mic just use windows sound recorder or download 'Audacity' off the net.
