AMP and Speaker done

I finally have finished the little amp and speaker cab that I have been building for about 6 months.

The amp was a Kit from EVATCO and the cabinets are French Polished Jarah .

This was heaps of fun to build and as Black Lab told me when I started ,it could get very addictive - I think he may be right.

Thanks for the compliments.

It even makes my "Playing" sound good,well better is probably the word......

The amp is great. The kit was probably the best way to go for the first build.

Its only a 5W (Champ) but that is heaps to drive the neighbours (and the wife) up the wall.

The dog next door has now developed a different kind of HOOOOOWL!

The cabinet's were a great learning curve and heaps of fun to build .

I have never bothered with Dovetails or Box joints before but I can now appreciate how good they could look with a bit of thought.

great looking job strungout. the cab and the head look excellent.

your more experienced than i am when it comes to the head shell making, i still havent put any of my amps into one. might be asking you for advice

Looks great Strungout. I've just finished a five watter found at ax84.com, hard to describe the feeling on first power up.....and it not only worked but sounded great. Now to finish the head cab.

Hi Nathan,

It sure felt good when it didn't go Bang. AX84 is a pretty site too and if I build another one I would make it from scratch.

Where did you get your parts from?

Believe it or not my biggest hassle was getting the faceplate done,so I think I would do all that first up as part of the chasis.

The stuff I have used on the front of this is garbage. Soon as you look at it it scratches.

I had a mate pick the handles up at a place (RETRO AMPS) in VIC ,but there are a few around depending what you are after.I was going to get them from MOJO in the US

Hi jmiersy,

I am sure yours will turn out just as good.

I found it was really a matter of taking my time with it.

The speaker is a Jenson C8R which I got from EVATCO when I got the kit.
