cheers ladies
dont be making fun of my fretwire holder.... lol
i say if you got scrap wood, you gotta do something with it.... so i did....
and as a bonus i got a chance to play around and reset the depth gauge on my drill press (has been playing up for a while)
and re arange my drill bit drawer....
so it was win win
all the holes are the exact same depth,
so if you cant tell longest to shortest/left to right,
then you have issues
oh and it looks kool... lol
i was freaking out when i the router bit got to the first horn point....
then it went around it fine lol....
had me sweating
aussie, you didnt come on yahoo today, lazy bugger lol
cheers for the encouragement

To quote Gaylord Fokker:
I'm a-lookin' ... and I'm a-likin'
It's looking great ... a very fluid design.

hahaha...fokker!! i still laugh everytime i hear it. i love it when the little kid keeps saying asshole!!!!
I was hoping i could just flip it and use the routered part of the body as a template. great minds think alike. ill be using my router table too. First time using it. I still gotta rout the top to accept the plate. ill do it this weekend.
Cant wait to see the progress you make. Looks sick so far. I think I will become friends with you then maybe ill get an awesome guitar for free!!

thanks guys
sorry to hear your sick R3R
get better and build some geetars
that sawing was a pain in the butt lol
but looking at the body now... it was well worth it.....
and as a bonus, as i look around the body at the top/bottom glue joint...
there is not a gap to be seen...
so i did a fair job at flattening it all by hand,
so im more than happy at this point
cheers dadovfor
i should weigh it and see what it is before i get into routing the cavities,
not sure if you guys are intrested in wieghts... some people are
now i just gotta figure out how to do this neck...
i still havnt decided on set neck or bolt on,
i will be giving neck thru a miss on this one,
just because i want to bet a few necks out of these slabs of maple.
oh i see how it is floody.... using me for free guitars!
let me try build this neck then ill see how i go lol

When we were doing our first build I figured that if I stuffed it, at worst it would still make a very flash wall hanging. Fortunately it plays well ... and it hangs on a wall too
And I'd better log back into work, which is what I'm supposed to be doing rather than following your progress. I'll call it a tea-break!!

I haven't said it before but I'm in a policy/advisory role in a large public sector organisation. And if I told you any more than that I'd have to shoot you . So my job is largely dealing with words (lots and lots of them!) which is what makes guitar building (doing and watching) so appealing. Stuff like this keeps me sane ... relatively speaking.

So true ... in fact I'm so important that I can tell you that you definitely spelt defenetly incorrectly . The truth is that I never knew what I wanted to be when I grew up, and I still don't. So I'll keep doing what I'm doing until I work it out. Hopefully my kids will work it out much earlier than me. But I like words and writing, so it's not all bad ... just a different form of creativity to the things I like doing away from work.
Sounds like there wasn't much progress today?

i wouldnt say there was no progress today....
there was some, but not as much as i ussually pump out
here the offcuts from the back wood (dont know what it is still lol)
i ripped them to about 1cm thick i think....
might be able to get a few fretboards out of it.....
whether or not the wood is ok for fretboards is another thing...
its hard... it feels nice.... it looks good.... hmm
heres my other creations of today/yesterday lol
(lots of chisel work )
my room is looking like a timber yard lol
oh and i got a t-o-m, so i will get some more work done on the V soon
