Default Australian Source for Cumpiano Build Neck Bolts

I have just started to build a steel string guitar according (more or less) to the Cumpiano book, but following the update for neck attachment on his web site.
Does anybody know of an Australian source for the "barrel and bolt," KD (for knockdown) fastener," or "connector bolt and dowel"
I thought that I could make these, using 12mm steel rod, and drilling and tapping a 1/4 inch hole, and then just use hex head bolts. The figures came from measuring the graphic on the website and extrapolating. However, my metal working skills are limited, and the tap I bought from a well known store was about as much use as my big toe.
    Thanks,Alan

I get mine from the local mitre10. They have them in brass or bronze colour. I prefer the bronze, but that's just me.

Try http://www.timbecon.com.au/products/...ngs-433_0.aspx here. I ordered off the web site and got the stuff in a few a days.

BUNNINGS..... go to the kitchen cabnit section, many different sizes. Dont make them if you have any kind of choice, I tried, started on the lathe, an hour later had a couple, then ducked down to bunnings for some random stuff and there they were, bout 2 bucks for four. Easier than making them.

just a note, there are the barrell ones there, but i used the ones that have an aggressive thread on the insert that screw into the timber, then a threaded hole down the middle for the bolt. I used superglue on the threads as i was screwing them in to give the endgrain of a tenon a little more strength. A million different ways to do the same thing.
