Need a big BandSaw in Brisbane
Hi, I just bought a nice piece of Bunya to make a carved archtop. It is 60mm thick and 250mm wide and I need to split it into two 25mm thick book-matched pieces for the top. My band saw is only good for about 150 mm so I'm looking for someone with a bigger unit that can re-saw the wood. Can anyone assist? I'm in the west of Brisbane.

Hi Andrew - where are you located? Have you tried the big red shed at Darra? If you find someone, can you let me know? I'm in Jindalee, and don't have access to a bandsaw at all.

Damien, I'm in Chapel Hill; I'll check w Big Red Shed - good idea. I'm also considering buying a new BS that has the capacity. In the meantime I have a 14" BS that is basic but works and is good for most things. If you're in need let me know and I'll be happy to assist. Also I am looking to sell the one I have to help fund the new one, if that is of interest let me know.
