Now Stu, your photography is also excellent the way you set up the guitars and show them is great, the sell them selves if you know what I mean.
Take note you builders out there this is the way to showcase your work.

Hi,
I am the fortunate one who will be calling this guitar my own. It’s drying at the moment and will be ready in about 2 weeks so I’ll just say a few words about the build, Stu and BluesTone Guitars.
Stuart Eadie’s craftsmanship is impeccable. He is without doubt a luthier of exceptional talent. He also happens to be a fantastic bloke with first class customer service. He will go above and beyond to get the best result possible for the customer. His up to date and in depth pictures of the building process really bring you right into the workshop and have been an exciting element of the build. He has continuously been in contact, making sure that things are going just right and has taken on board any suggestions, ideas, praise, complaints and worries with a smile (or smiling emoticon!). I have fortunately been around to the workshop a couple of times as well to pick out some woods and to sort out things like the neck profile, control layout, hardware and pickups.
Stu had been planning to build a bent-sides semi hollow guitar which was something that really excited me. When I told him I was looking for a full, lush, deep, rich tone he said ‘Blackwood mate’. He was keen on using Blackwood for the whole guitar – top and back, sides, centre core and neck. After I confirmed with him that I wanted one (about a thousand times), we chose Blackheart Sassafras for the top and back instead to help keep things less weighty and a really light weight piece of Blackwood for the neck. Blackwood has such a beautifully deep, full resonance and the BH Sass compliments it nicely with a slightly brighter tone, and an awesome raw, woody appearance. We chose Ebony for the 25’ fretboard for good clarity and snappy attack.
The centre core design differs cleverly from most semi-hollow centre core designs because of the tone port at the end. This creates a single hollow chamber as opposed to two separate chambers. He previously did this on his neck through tele.
Stu’s own extra special custom features of a blackened maple veneer between the headstock and BH Sass headstock plate, ebony fretboard binding, chakra inlay, magnetic ebony bullet truss rod cover and the ebony heel cap are very classy touches that help to create a beautiful aesthetic. Wait till you see the finish!
Talking about going above and beyond, Stu shone when it came to the inlay. A chakra is an energy centre in the body and I thought that it could be a nice touch as a 12th fret inlay. He continued to draft and re-draft the idea until the design was just right. There was a fine balance needed for the right look, too rounded and it could have easily ended up looking like a flower, too sharp and it’s a ninja star. The chakra inlay is meticulously crafted, and the material choices of paua shell, white mother of pearl and blue recon stone blend wonderfully and provide an eye catching 3Dness. I’m not really a big inlay guy and initially I was happy to leave the fretboard clean or just have something small and pretty inconspicuous, but Stu did push me a little to come up with some sort of idea so that he could then work a bit of magic. The final result is really special.
Pickups are going to be Brierley Humbuckers - A2 for the neck, modern hot A2 for the bridge with master volume and tone pots. Switching will be a 3-way toggle and two 3-way mini switches, one for each pickup (Humbucker series/single coil/Humbucker parallel).
This guitar is a new design, a prototype really, but the way Stu has put it together seems like he’s built it many times before. The build is so clean; it appears like the guitar just materialized into existence as one complete entity. The other guitars of Stu’s that I’ve played have all felt great and sounded great (even the lefty’s!) and undoubtedly this one will too.
Prices for high quality production guitars become infinitely laughable and somewhat offensive comparatively.
When I get the guitar and play it in I’ll post more about the feel and tone.
Cheers,
Gidon
