Absolutely beautiful and your photography is shot just as well.

Thanks fellas. Gidon picked this up a few days ago.

    Brilliant work Stu
Thanks, Mark. It was great to see your builds also and the pictures certainly don't do them justice. Your Carbon fibre V is just a mind blowing concept and exceptionally lightweight.

I took this build along to Melbourne Ampfest last weekend for people to try out prior to Gidon picking her up on the Monday.

I got to meet quite a few fellow WW forumites in the process too.
Thanks to Mark, Wal and Ralph for having a look, and a good chat
    in the process.

Gidon has already recorded with his band using this guitar, so once all is mixed, I'll have some clips up.In the mean time, I've got a few more of these to build, amongst other things.

Hey hey thanks for the mention Stu, It was good to catch up with you also and if I may add, your build photos don't do them any justice either.

what ever anyone reckons Stu's builds should get out of ten, multiply that by ten.

    Regards to all

Like everyone else, I'm totally blown away by this build and the quality of the result - simply exceptional - congratulations to you.

Concerning the below, could you give any details on the side construction, and what you did to bend them? Is it kerfed, heated, clamped in a frame, or anything else?

    Thanks.

Sorry for the slow responce, Cee Tee.

I wanted to use blackwood throughout this build, for a resonant, boomier sound with nice mids.
I won't be changing anything in terms of future build structure with these ones. A full and resonant sound indeed.

The sides and laminated solid rims were bent to a form on an ibex bender with a spritz of water to create a bit of steam to aid bending.

The sides, especially the lower cutaway were tested a fair amount to get the
right radius before suffering loss of structural integrity. This also comes down to thickness of the sides. ie. the thicker the sides, the less bend possible before fracture. Typical scenarios for all those that do acoustic style builds. Nothing new here.

Inside the box I opted to bend laminated, solid rims for strength and wanted to experience the whole bending process to test how far I could push blackwood and its bending properties. I'll try slotted kerfing down the track eventually for its ease of use but for now , I am really enjoying the extra long process off bending
4 x 2.0mm sections of blackwood, then glued to create an 8.0mm laminated rim more solid then something you could possibly rout out of a solid body blank, yet
get more liveliness from it in terms of sound.

I really like the direction you are going in with these hollow body acoustic electrics Stu. I was fortunate enough to hear this build and I can vouch first hand for the acoustic properties. Truly outstanding. I look forward to seeing this journey continue.......

I am also pleased to see the direction Stu is going with the semi - hollow.
It is a much better use of the tonewood resource.
