As Andy B said in another post ... HOLY CRAP!!!!
I have a vague picture in my mind of the dream guitar I'm going to build when I feel I'm at the point that I know what I'm doing. And I want it to look like that Stu.
Well done ... that carve and finish are amazing.

the colour is real nice... i shall call it.... red velvet
on another note, whats going on with the truss rod there? looks like it has somekind of insert to cover it? interesting

Stu,
That guitar is something else. Exceptional balance of detail and simplicity which is very easy on the eye. You keep raising that bar of yours higher and higher. If you don't mind me asking, how did you get such a clean faux binding line on the top when staining?
I bet you couldn't wipe the smile off the guys face when you delivered it. Look forward to seeing more

Hey Stu!! I've been walking around with a drooling problem since checking out your latest work , Mighty fine stuff mate.
It's that's the kind of work that inspires armatures like me to strive for the highest standards.
And I'll see floody's holy crap and raise it by that amount
regards to all

Thanks for the words guys.
Bob, I couldn't tell you off hand how long this one took to finish, I built it in fits and starts knowing when my deadline for completion was. I had a bit of time up the sleeve
Peter, I faux bind by firstly laying down a sealer of shellac over the faux bind section, 6mm latex tape it prior to staining using 3 separate colours(I don't do the black and sand back thing, ever) then apply a coat of nitro to seal the top.
If it's getting a burst I'll apply that next in thinnied nitro for a better blend-out.
After that pull the tape back and seal the edge with shellac, then refinish as per normal using nitro.
Andrew, the hipshots are great bridge and sit very low with less room for error than
a standard fender hardtail. They're a quality bridge which I'm keen to use again and whats more they also look the part.

damn right they look the part....
they are on my list of future purchases
didnt answer my trussrod question!!!

The truss cover is shaped like a bullet to fit the truss slot as a snug fit and has a small magnet on end which locates onto the end of the trussrod.
