    Well,
    the time has finally arrived.
    I have my new guitar.
At this point, I'd have to say that I have enjoyed the process of having someone else
build a guitar for me. There has been lots of communication, pictures, I've been kept informed all the way.
I don't think I could have built a guitar to this quality and finish. Stu is a real craftsman, and a top bloke.
I suppose I'd also like to mention Sean and Bruno at ALS (Hancock Guitars) who picked out the timber in the first place. Pretty much 90% of the parts also came from them.
Don't think I'm gonna sail off into the sunset though. I've got my next build in planning stages , that's another chapter

I've just uploaded all of the pix from this build, mostly that OZ-TRADIE took, and some I took when I received the timber, to Photobucket. You can search photobucket using
    BASSBUILDERMAN
    or

cut and paste the link into google, ( I hope it works)

    Hey Stu,
I notice that your avatar became "reformed carvaholic".

    True?
is it a 12 step program?

Have you gone over to the dark side of slab guitars, Bo Diddly-esque design (square box) and Leo Fender mentality?
Or are you still a carver at heart, eager and itching to get your rotary sander onto some timber.

I have a mental image of you with sander in hand looking whistfully at this guitar going "I must be able to carve something!"

I really wish we cold drop sound bites on the site, its really and truly the end product of the build. OK they may be beautiful and everything but sound is the end product.

Does anyone know of a streaming audio site that is like Youtube that has an embedable interface?

    Sweet work Stu
    Cheers!
    Mongrel

    Stu,
Record some clips and chuck them on your Myspace page. Free, simple, and the whole world can listen.

    Guitar's been delivered, Deano.

I think audio files are fine as long as they are high quality recordings by a good
    guitarist. This is a must.
Lots of variables to consider when trying to give a true indication of 'flavours'.

Anything else just does damage, and not just to the ears.

What the Hell? Where have I been when this was going on? Boy have I been missing out. Stunning mate, just stunning. You keep setting that bar higher and higher. Thanks for posting the build in such detail. I alsways come away with ideas for designs and techniques from your threads. Thanks. Keep it up.

    Cheers,

    Peter
