Not at all mate. Your doing a fantastic job of it and i bet you are loving every second of it.
If you had swallowed the blue pill, you would have built something totally pointless,,,, like a bass guitar

Keep up the fantastic work,,,, btw are you going to be adding any pearl work?

Couldnt you rough the shape in with a grinder, dremel or file, then perfect the shape by surface sanding, as Andrew mentioned?

Yep I sure could and I probably will end up making the rings myself but being the pedantic pr$^&@ck that I am I just like to know that if I suddenly decided to bye store bought ones that they'd fit properly.

And a very nice bass it is too Andrew. Put a door on your shed or use the kitchen like others do

theres just a big puddle infront of it....
my street is a downhill slope....
when it rains the water travels through everyones backyards... bloody aweful...

    Default Pickup wire

Hi all you budding pickup builders, I don’t know if this is of any help or interest to anybody.
I noticed that stewmacs sells .225 kg spool of pickup wire for around $30 plus postage.
Well, I’ve been chasing the white rabbit and have found a company called OBA in Brisbane that just happens to have 24 x 1. ?? kg spools of old stock .056mm magnet wire that they need to get rid of, I believe awg 42 is between 0.05 and 0.07 thickness, so it should be suitable for pickups,
Terry, the guy who works there tells me it sells for around $40 per kg + gst. That work’s out to around $50 per 1.something kg spool. Less than ½ the price.
I cant take advantage of this as it would cost me $70 to 75 by the time I get it to Melbourne.
If it’s worthwhile perhaps some of you guys may be able to make use of this info....... or not

    Kindest regards to all
    Wal

The product code is .056 PUR

remember you gotta make sure it is insulated copper wire and not bare copper wire...

i paid about 70 for my spool....

by the time you finish converting the stewmac stuff and pay postage it gets pretty high $$.....

that mob is one of the companies i emailed during my wire search... lol

Thanks Andrew I appreciate the offer mate but if you check out page 3 post 1 of this thread you'll notice I already made those LOL.

And yes I feel like having a little sook because this is a Millers Falls router and they a supposed to be pretty reliable but I've already had to replace both bearings, the main one twice, and now I need to try to chase up a new switch GRRRRR .

At least I have a spare router, as luck would have it I managed to pick up a Hitachi TR 12 for $35.00 on E bay last week. No one bid on it because some one painted it pink LOL

    Its a little ripper.
