    Lots of good progress there. How do you do the rough cut out of your body without a band-saw? Jig saw? Router?

    It was hot today ... went for a walk to Paul's Hardware in the City ... they're having a closing down sale. Hardware stores in the City are now a rare thing!

    rough cut with jigsaw, clean up with router + template

    what did you buy me from pauls???

    Actually, im pretty much doing the same thing with a guitar here.
    Through neck, humbuckers, wide binding on the fretboard, fan fret. Great minds think a like, but then so do insane psychopaths i guess

    oh yea the inlaying.... well...
    i couldnt decide what to do....
    and i still cant think of anything....
    so if no one has any bright ideas before monday, it will have no inlay....

    i need a bevel bit....

    and does anyone have a 16inch radius block they dont want?

    did you end up sending the goods?

    you should give me the radius block, you know you want to

    not sure about pups.... ill probably wind a set or something... will figure it out when i get to it

    finish....
    i was thinking clear coat to show of the mahogany (and the maple board will have to be finished too...)

    otherwise i will talk to my mate (the one who owns the bass) about getting him to spray it.....
    *shrugs*
    will worry about it when i get to it....

    i still gotta design my damn name to put on the stupid headstocks lol

    i reckon im manly enough to sport a pink 7 string

    but my first choice will be something of a pearlescent variety... lol

    hahaha if my eyes were pink i would be very scared....

    now....

    progress time...

    i was contemplating doing dots made from the same timber as the binding...

    but i cant seem to punch them as neat as i got the last ones i did....
    i will sharpen up my punches and have another go... see what happens...





    i made up a router jig and thinned down the back of my neck and heel....

    i still need to thin down the back of the headstock... will get to that soon enough...

    now onto the back ( i wont bevel the bottom as i need that wood there to stick my template to when i routed my cavity)



    many cuts help to get rid of wood faster....



    and thats all for now...

    iv done the back but i didnt take pics lol...


    back to it tomorrow i guess....
