looks good, nice shape. ive been considering making a v, but i dont know if id play it too much due to the badly balanced shape that would be hell to play sitting down. maybe if i run out of ideas.

Are you joking? V is one of the most comfortable guitars to play sitting down IMO.
I've even heard stories that they where originally designed specifically for that purpose, although I don't know how true that is.
Sitting down, you play them more like a nylon classical. You put one wing of the guitar either side of your right leg (left leg for Stu :P), which keeps the neck nicely elevated, forcing you to have a proper playing posture. Ergonomically they are excellent guitars for playing while sitting down. You obviously can't just rest the guitar on your thigh like a strat.
This guy seems to know what it's about: http://www.flying-v.ch/nickelback/00005_rj_n.jpg

funnily enough i was thinking that migght be a good position to sit and play a v, but decided to ignore it when replying.
maybe ill make something similaar to a moderne but upside down and extend the little horn thing just a little bit. to get some better balance. hell, why not a singecut style top to the v? a bit of an odd shape, but might be a fun build.

I think this guitar is an attempt to combine a Flying V and an Explorer with improved balance. The design combination worked, but its still not well balanced. Then again, neither where a Flying V or an Explorer to begin with.
How is the progress going on your modded KV macaroni? Exams out the way yet. I'm really looking forward to seeing this one get built as I am definately a fan of the design (KV).

not a bad looking instrument, but the balance would be quite off, might even be worse with that horn adding wore weight to the front of the instrument. to have the best balance you want the balance point between the strap buttons, otherwise you will be constantly holding the neck up while playing.

+1 for the pictures mate! Let us see how it's going!
Are you planing to give the guitar a solid finish? I generally assume people are going for some form of natural finish these days, because of all the delicious looking timbers being used... mmm, timber.

Hmm.......woodfiller tells me a possible candidate for a solid or metallic job.
All depends how much woodfilling, I guess.
C'mon Macaroni , don't be shy. pointy guitars excite me !!!!!!!
cheers, Stu

haha sorry guys, havent had time to take pics yet. im letting the woodfiller dry cos i did multiple layers to one spot due to a huge muck up with the router.
it will be a solid finish, still deciding between blood red with black bevels or white with black bevels.
was pretty busy this weekend. did alot of driving, goin for my p's this tuesday and got a drill press for my birthday , ye sorry to bore u with my life story lol.
i'll get some pics up tomorow, i promise

What about black with blood red bevels? Personally I would go for the black and red over the white anyway, but it's your guitar.
There so many colour options out there tho. At the end of the day, I guess it comes down to what image you are trying to get out of the guitar, and what colours you like. Look at the PDV for example. Awesome guitar, but polka dots, ? It's still hugely popular however.

If 'roni gets his licence, are we going to choose a car for him?
With the price of petrol, his guitar paint & hardware budget is going to shrink rapidly...
Red is pretty expensive as a toner colour; for one person painting small areas of one guitar, it may not be justifiable. White is just a fly magnet when the lacquer's wet. I'd go black with a little Von Douche style pinstriping (see H.A.M.B. for plenty of examples).
Cheers, Adam.
