I've glued the fretboard on now and fretted it - just a quick tidy up of the fretends but still needs some work. Now off to an indian resturant and to watch the fireworks

tht would be the lightest palest cocobolo i eva did see....
i reckon it might have been an error ...i would send a photo to LMI and ask for clarification on whether it is an error and u might get some credit back ...
nice progress thus far thoughLooking for

Sometimes its a little more black, and sometimes there are some yellow sections, but this is pretty much a perfect example of all Cocobolo Ive ever seen. Quarter sawn usually has dead straight grain, flat sawn is "figured" like this...

A bit of an update - I had a problem with the neck angle... Everything lined up perfectly until I realised I had not taken into account the lip on the mounting studs....
This 3mm caused me all sorts of grief as I only realised after i had glued the neck in.
I'm just thankful I assembled the guitar before I started painting it and had a chance to fix the problem.
All of my neck angle measurements had been taken just laying the bridge across the body without taking into account the studs.. Oh well, I had to deal with it so I recessed the bridge and also the pickup cavity...

Thanks. Yeah, I plan to oil the fretboard which will darken it up a bit. Need to check out if I can oil it though... Do you normally oil bocote ??

the bocote i have is as oily as cocobolo
and if it's anything like cocobolo, it should darken with exposure all by itself
however, i would presume any wood can be 'oiled' until i am shown otherwiseLooking for
