Default My First Build a Weissenborn

Thanks Mark, it will not be easy, but as one x australian prime minister once said, life was not meant to be easy, always makes me laugh when rich people
    make comments like that.
I look forward to this build and I will get there with a bit of help, then I will have to learn how to play it, I might have to live to 100.
    Cheers Bob.

Good on you Bob ... I look forward to seeing the pictures.

And I know you don't have much experience with timber so feel free to ask me anything that you might be confused about.

I am sure when I post pictures of the billets of figured fiddleback blackwood that I will resaw for my build, you will tell me that the timber is no good and to send it to you.
    Cheers Bob.

Now c'mon Bob, I think you've confused me with Andy B ... the Scrounger Extraordinairre!!

Although ... now that you mention it
I'll be expecting to see some seriously tasty wood on this build.

G'Day Michael, Its actually called a Weissenborn I made a mistake in spelling when I started the thread. Type in weissenborn in google look for a few youtube videos and listen. It really is a beautiful sounding instrument, it's going to be a long slow build, but thats Ok I am not going anywhere.
    Cheers Bob.

Default My First Build a Weissenborn

Hi dadovfor, my Weissenborn will be very similar in shape to the photo you posted, but thats where it ends, I will be using some of my special private stash stored away for a rainy day. I will be building this build with high figured fiddleback blackwood that has been air drying 12 years. and I will add a few extra touch's . I am thinking about beautiful pure musk burl on the headstock, now very rare, I will work on a few idea before I finish.
But I do know the whole instrument will be built with 100% Tasmanian tone woods.
    Cheers Bob
