    What book?

Robert Benedetto's book "Making an Archtop Guitar" is a good start.

Where to get stuff..the book is American so all quoted suppliers are in the US.

For suppliers in Australia see Ray's list (earlier post). In the US Stewmac and LMI supply most stuff youll need.

The book is good, you'll need to buy the plans too, in my opinion.

Is the book enough to build? Probably. Bennedetto also has DVDs as well as the book and the plans. If you've got heaps of cash, get all three. Otherwise, the book plus the plans. The plans can be had from stewmac.

Though the title of the post was referring to YOU building an archtop old son.

Benedetto's book is good but it doesnt include full scale detailed plans. There are reduced scale patterns in the back of the book which are better than nothing. GuitarAustralia, Luthiers Supplies or Gilet Guitars should have plans for an archtop. Failing that try Stewmac, LMI or The Guild of American Luthiers website.

This is the link to the Bob Benedetto set of DVD's and book
    http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Video,_D...struction.html
You need a DVD player that will play NTSC (USA standard) as the Aussie standard is PAL. It might seem expensive but I have both the book and the DVD's and the DVD's are definately worth the money its all very well to read about it and look at the pictures but to actually see him do it and explain what he's doing is 100x better. Also if you are thinking of building one of his design get the plan as well (also avail from StewMac) I'm in the process of starting mine and a friend of mine has just finished his first and got an order for the next one! Here is a picture of his.
