Ok so heres an update on what ive been at lately.
Just putting a few coats on the through neck jobbie.
I made this lill tail piece for this guitar, but im going to be using it on the other body.
Ill make another one the same, but with darker woods so it doesnt stand out like dogs gibletts.
Theres a metal frame under the wood, so dont freak out thinking it will all go "SNAP" when i string it up. But then just my luck, it will
And heres "the other" body im going to use the first tail piece on.
I started on the body a while ago, but got side tracked. Now ive fretted the neck to go with it and am just getting some final touches done so i can finish it all up.
Oh, and ive started on slim line body today Only got the blank sorted and started on whats gonna go where, but it shouldnt be far off show n tell.

That timber tail piece is ace. Something that I have thought about but put in the too hard basket. But you have executed it well. Great work.

Thanks all for the nice words Theres a hell of a lot of great work going on in the threads and im really trying heaps of different ideas that i previously didnt have the confidence to take on. Just imagine what sort of beautiful monstrosity we could come up with as a think tank!!! Oooooooo spooky!
Oh btw, does anyone have any good tips for flatening .6mm veneers?
I have a few pieces here that i tried pressing then actually ironing but theres still a few fairly high bumps id like to get out before using.
Ive started glueing it down from one end and pressing it as i move along, and that seems to be working great, but i still think i "might" end up with some bumps.
So far so good though.
