Hey THANKS Andrew for keeping me in my own game,,, all good now though.
Ive gotten a shiney new PC and am having a hell of a time trying to reinstall everything,,, bugger. Its amazing how many links ya lose when ya PC goes belly up.
Maybe fates way of saying i need a clean up?
Anyway, thanks mate, i can send you some of that rosewood, but its total crap for fretboards.

If I join in this crazy exercise you will see heaps of cheating. I'm thinking of dragging out the V body that we started ages back and got wrong, and salvaging that. I have necks, pups and other bits lying around ... but there's a few parts I'll need order.
So I might tag along to make up the numbers ... and I'm more than happy for you to deduct points for all the cheating.
The challenge part for me will be the finish ... I have a couple of ideas that I'm keen to try out there.
I'll see what I have and maybe take some pics tomorrow.

I think Aussies orginal point was to see creative ways of building and creative solutions to the "play Smoke on the Water at 3:00am to annoy the neighbours" problem.

It's actually going to be for my daughter. The first guitar I made for her (fairly standard strat shape) I was going to do pink but she told me her favourite colour was blue ... so sky/aqua blue it was ... a bit like this
This time round I was thinking of pink as a starting point with a bit of interesting stuff added in
So no smart guy, it's got nothing to do with my personality !!!!!!
Having said that ... I've just noticed that the shirt I'm currently wearing happens to have vertical pink stripes

I can sort of do it on my rg but not my other guitars...Ya gotta have the right action otherwise it just sounds like mud!!!
Ive been playing my ex lately..its got the lowest quickest action ever!!!!
Im happy to join.. I been researching neck building all arvo and trying to find where to get my fret slotting done lol

lol yea my ibanez needs a set up (over haul)
lol.... the action is pretty high... needs a fret level i guess...
those jumbos have worn away over the years....
but im so scared to get it leveled or refretted because ITS MY BABY!!! and i dont want some nitwit wrecking my beautiful maple board
i think trust is the issue here...
what do you mean by neck references?
send me the ex thanks
i was busy doing this the last 2 days
my second baby....
a rusty one at that.....
the A saddle had a grub screw rusted in it... so i had to get it out with pliers....
so its no good...
and i need another one! lol
where the hell do i get a single black saddle height adjustment screw to fit?????
or a set of them.....
the springs are rusted too... so i wouldnt mind replacing all the birdge screws and spriings lol.....
anyone would think i play guitar for an under water circus band

man thats such a nice looking strat!
I try to do setups on mine every 6 months...(usually once a year but lol)
Ill go take pics of my babys and post them in my thread lol
I meant any links or pics or files you might have to help with building a neck..
Gilet do slotting for $22....but if ya want custom scales or frets, its an extra $50
I think ill go with them... Ill prob go with a 27" scale and 27 frets
