    Default cleaning an acoustic guitar

    i picked up an acoustic guitar at a garage sale and was wondering what is the best product to clean the wood up and guitar in general with eg mr sheen,ubueat wood wax ?

    Definitely not mr sheen and wood wax is not really appropriate.
    Most recommend a soft cloth dampened with soapy water.
    dont use anything with silicones
    You can use a fine cut car paint cleaner but it has to be silicone free, I use Mcguires professional which is labeled as paintable (not all of them are)

    Jeff's advice is sound. If the previous owner has been playing the instrument after eating fast food and there's a gunge build up on the fretboard Shellite is useful for removing same.
