Cliff's CBG build.
G'day.
I'm away from home for a few months & now have a bench in a carport so I'm building a Cigar Box Guitar.
Most of the timber has come from fineboxes, thanks Steve.
I went home for a couple of days to do some mowing & property maintenance so I grabbed some tools while I was there.
I have a small trimmer router that takes 1/4" bits so I grabbed that & a handful of useful bits.
I went to Bunnies & got some pine & swiped an old cutting board from the kitchen (replaced it with a new one) to make a router table.Cliff.
If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.

I also have a borrowed jigsaw & I used another cutting board to make a saw table for it too.
I called into Carbatec & got a 2M length of flexible 4" duct & hooked that up to an electric leaf vac as a dust extractor.
I bought 1/2 a length of 25mm x 50mm ali from Capral & chopped that up to make fences & 'torture boards.' (glued sandpaper to the wide face)
The 80 grit torture board is for truing up the long lengths, & edges.Cliff.

Some body shots & a trial fit.
The black sheet is one of those 'non-stick' BBQ mats, works great for gluing on.
If some of these shots seem a bit discontinuous, it is because I am actually building 2 at once, one is a 25.5" (648mm) scale & the other is a 22.75" (590mm) scale.
The bodies will be the same size but the pickups will be different.
They will both be 4 string instruments.Cliff.

Bill is right Cliff, you gotta luv it when somebody 'rats' something for a purpose other than its original intended use and bonus points for taking it from the kitchen aka wife

Ta.
Nothing more has happened but I do have a few action shots.
Here I am cleaning up the edges of one of the box sides, first on the router table & then one the torture board. (The forum put them in the wrong order. )Cliff.

Here are a couple of action shots on the neck.
Shaping the neck with a rasp.
Planing down the bit of pine I added to the neck inside the body to mount the pickups on 'cos it was a bit too thick to fit inside the box.
Marking out the neck & the box to 'let' one into the other.Cliff.

All work has stopped.
The relos who own the house we are in do not approve of the saw dust, even in the carport.
Bugger, now I am shedless.Cliff.
