cnc guitar build ?
Have cnc [ not a computer expert ] & am looking for suitable programme to use in guitar & general furniture work
- heard " rhino " could be ok ?
Interested in any other suggestions also approx what price will I be looking at ?

a lil birdy told me a while back that rhino goes for over 500US
other programs are just as expensive apparently...
but i dont know anything about CNC's ....
google it
theres also a whole CNC section on this forum....
and if im not mistaken there is a mob on here somewhere who cnc guitar bodies and necks....

i would love to learn more about cnc but i am always reminded of how much wood i can get for the cost of getting a cnc heh
would love to watch u build wiv cnc though

I use pro engineer for modelling but this it at uni, don't know how much it would cost but it's great. I think there is another program we used to plot the tool path and then output to the CNC but I can't remember the name sorry. I'll have a think about it.

Hi Wayne,
I use Rhino and it is a very powerful modeler. It is very suitable for designing/ drawing guitars in 3D, but the learning curve is quite steep. I would recommend that you download the free trial version and have a play around with it.
I haven't used Alibre but I hear it is quite good also.... good luck.
