    Hi Rob, welcome.

Hi guys, sorry for my lack of presents but I'm philomathic and have become involved in lots of other stuff as well as building.

You can find a lot of stuff for the red special on the rs forums including detailed plans and data, and it's freely available.

However, I had to jump through hoops, stand on one leg, hold my tongue the right way and fart in the key of D flat to join their forum. And I don't agree with much of their opinions regarding accuracy of the guitar. The only people that have access to accurate measurements are those who own a Guyton red specials and they're all a bunch of blonks who think their poop don't stink and won't share with any body.

I had spent close on 12 months grinding my way through on line photos, forums and picking brains, and hundreds of hours on CAD to get the drawings as good as i can, only to have the admin of said forums complain that there wasn't enough data measurements and then tell me that they are inaccurate even when they don't have accurate data to compare it with. In fact I've found some of their plans to be asymmetrical, so they may be just copying some one else's mistakes instead of just trying to produce a good quality instrument.

RANT RANT RANT, I feel better know.

I drew my plans as a request by my mentor and great friend Mr Ralph Diquattro, here is a link to the Melbourne guitar show that demonstraits the build quality and sound of his guitar https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSnBgmgXu4w

I followed his build from start to finish, and I want to say that in my opinion, from an engineering point of view, Ralph's guitars are of impeccable quality and his Rs is no exception, it looks and sounds as good or better than the Brian May guitar. And they don't cost 15 or 20 grand.

If he can achieve this from my drawings so can you. The drawings may lack some measurements but they are at one to one full scale in hi res pdf and can be printed.

    I hope this helps.
Good luck Rob, and post some build pics for us so we can all enjoy your work.

    regards to all,

    Walt

I’m new to this type of thing and can’t for the life of me see any way of downloading the plans that you are offering. Please can you help as I’m hoping to start building my RS?
