Glenns new Projects!
well apparently i cant use my old thread anymore cause its more than 90days since active??? ?!?
so guess i'll have to start a new one!
ok so i havent posted for ages! been pretty lazy of late!
status on the last 2 is i've got the black one in shop gettin the electrics looked at cause i'm too lazy too figure out the damn prs style pickup switch cause its a bitch of a switch!
the purple on needs a new neck as it was not quite straight an the only way to fix was either to redrill neck screw holes or move bridge! both of which im not planning on doin cause both would be a disaster! so a new neck will be the solution wen i bother to do it!
SO! cause im an impatient prick an want to move on i've started a couple of new project! both very much in the beginning stages!
first which will be my project for the time being is just a natural looking guitar with fancy inlay an stuff.
the fretboard inlay i have started which some of you might of seen a pic of earlier in my posts. a couple of pics of progress below. 62 pieces it is with roughly 40 cut so far..
the body will be blackwood with figured walnut tops courtesy of Deano!
neck will be queensland maple with Wenge laminates!
today i machined both the body an neck blanks an glued them up once dry i'll machine them nice an clean then do the tops!
second project will take a bit longer an prob wont do much on for a while but it is basically a bday present for a friend via his girl which will have some decrotive spiders an web ect inlayed on both body an neck! so far all i've got for this one is the mahogany that i've machined ready for glueing.. oh an a flame maple top courtesy of Perry Rhoads
pics below.... enjoy!AVERLEY Guitars!

Glenn, whilst you're welcome to start a new thread, I don't think that is what the 90 day advisory warning actually said?

Hey Glen,
Great to see your trade mark ash tray back in the pics. Looks like these will shape up to some nice guitars. Double cuts again? or going for a different shape?
Cheers,
Peter

peter to be completely honest i havent even got as far as to decide wat shape! lol just plannin on gettin the fretboard inlay finished an was gettin my wood together as to have a starting point! all i know is i wanna try the 'natural' look with possibly some binding which i havent done before an maybe a set neck.
although i havent even considered how yet! lol hmmm possibly a tune o matic bridge but again undecided! dunno if i wanna have to figure out neck angle!AVERLEY Guitars!

Ouch, that wiring looks horribly difficult. I hate just wiring 2 humbuckers with a coil split!
I was going to do this (below) to a guitar I was going to build, that I never got the wood for.

I'm actually happy I never had to do that wiring!

that would have to be the suckiest thing i eva seen ...
i can appreciate it to be some sorta anti-bump measure to keep current pages 'zombie-free' and some sorta control over excessive 'spammin' type tactics
but
otoh ..tht prs switch has an equivalent in a 5 way strat type super switch with 4 poles per position as well...
the prs rotary can be a lil cumbersome in the heat of the battle so to speak ...Looking for
1. fiddleback mulga - 1" thick, 3"wide, 26" long
PM if you have for sale!

always fun wen the stewmac DHL man shows up with a delivery! haha
havent really done anythin! machined my neck. an up clamped an cleaned up my body blank with the walnut top on it.
Stewmac order was fairly small. just stockin up on that sticky sandpaper stuff i love so much. some neck ferrules, side dot inlays, truss rods, some nut blanks, a nice scraper blade, some inlay saw blades an the bit i was lookin forward to some binding!
bought a length of plastic binding an 2 lenths of both maple with black/white/black laminate and rosewood with white/black/white laminate. now to decide which im gonna use!
some pics of a few things machined neck blank, body blank front an back an the bindings.AVERLEY Guitars!
