    Default Guitar #3

Got some new wood and a new shape

Body - Genuine Big Leaf Mahogany, Flamed Maple top
Neck - Rock Maple and Blackwood. Spotted Gum fretboard. Set
    Pickups - Humbuckers
    Finish - Stained, nitro (Black)?

So far so good, trying different techniques on this one. Cut out the body and routed in a half a day, super stoked. Im loving this shape though.
This will be another slow build, i need cash! Oh well, at least i have plenty of wood.

    Greg,

Nice clean work. I like the shape alot. Those horns look like they could pop a couple of beer bottles easy!
    Cheers

Still slow going getting setups sorted out.
Went over to the parents and finaly grabbed my pedestal, thing weighs a ton. after a good clean up from rust and neglect, its now back in action with a new .5 -20mm chuck and all lubed up.

Also scored some great condition English files and a hand drill $17 for the lot at the Drive In markets. I went solely looking for a big rasp and found one with rough one side smooth the other 1 3/4" wide, theres also i guy there that has a half a dozen old top quality pincers, new i should have grabbed a set, im going back this weekend.

I got a top off Perry that had some markings on it but its highly figured. Done some testing with colors and it looks as if im going to be able to hide it.

    So far so good, later

Very nice Greg, I like that shape a lot

What are your plans for the top - Is it thick enough to do a carve ?

    Cheers

Only one Drive In left, Blacktown Sundays 8.00am till 12.30pm Rows and rows of junkie treasures. Just the place i love to hang. See you there!

Top is only 7mm unfortunately, thats fine though. Ill be 2 tone staining it. Im hoping to source some thicker for my next one. Ive got my eye on a huge long gnarly figured piece of what i think is Silky Oak, ill find out tomorrow. Could possibly have some to sell if it comes off.
